Distribute flashlights to residents. . Notify WPS that electricity is out. Advise them that you are “an assisted living facility for the frail elderly” and request priority service if possible. Check fire alarm panel. Press 1-2-3-4-1 to reset as needed to get READY light on. . Retrieve emergency flood lights from entry doors and turn them off unless needed. . Check all rooms and halls for trip hazard items. . Keep refrigerator and freezers closed as much as possible. . Limit toilet flushes when possible. Use bottled water to fill tank to flush. . Distribute extra blankets as needed. . Plan menu to include non-cooking items.
